The Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) SPORE will have two Programs that will serve the WCM SPORE community, building off existing institutional resources; they are the Developmental Research Program (DRP) and the Career Enhancement Program (CEP).

The Developmental Research Program (DRP) is co-led by Drs. David Nanus, MD, Paraskevi (“Evi”) Giannakakou, Ph.D., and Lewis Cantley, Ph.D. This strong leadership will guarantee that innovative, high-risk/high-reward projects are nominated from the Tri-Institutional (Tri-I) campus, including WCM, Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSKCC), and Rockefeller University (RU). We will seek potential projects from Columbia University Medical School (CU), Cornell University (Ithaca), and Cornell Tech (NYC). We anticipate the DRP will develop future projects for our SPORE.

The Career Enhancement Program (CEP), co-led by Drs. Lorraine Gudas, Ph.D., and Douglas Scherr, MD, will support the career enhancement of junior faculty in the area of translational prostate cancer (PCa) research and identify established faculty leaders from the Tri-I and Cornell University Campuses to engage in the area of PCa research.
